Hard Disk Drive Handling
| |
Rough handling, accounts for more hard disk drive damage than all other factors combined. |
Dropping a drive onto a hard surface from a height of one inch may induce damaging forces. The heads will slap on the media and cause damage. |
|
| When resting the drive on any hard surfaces you should provide anti-static padding. Use adequate grounding devices when handling the unit. Do not touch the PCB, including edge connectors. | |
| Always use original container when shipping a drive to ITS Data Recovery if possible. For more information on how to pack hard drives click here. |
